Product Owner

Job#: 3033999

Job Description:

We're Hiring: Healthcare/EDI Product Owner

Location: 100% remote

Duration: Contract through 2026 to start, very strong potential for extensions

Rate: $60-70/hr

Are you the kind of Product Owner who can walk into a room full of competing priorities and walk out with clarity, alignment, and a plan everyone believes in? Do you thrive in high‑visibility, high‑pressure environments where your ability to organize, prioritize, and lead truly matters? If so, this role might be your next big move.

About the Team

This group is the backbone of the company’s data exchange ecosystem. They manage all inbound and outbound EDI and flat-file transactions, supporting critical functions such as claims adjudication, supplemental benefits, oncology management, and trading partner integrations. They partner closely with incident triage teams, ETL developers, EDI developers, DBAs, and business stakeholders across the entire organization. This is a high-impact, high-visibility space — the work they do touches nearly every corner of the company.

About the Role

We’re looking for a strategic, delivery-focused Product Owner. This is not a ticket‑pushing role — it’s a true ownership position where you’ll drive outcomes, shape priorities, and ensure the team is always working on the most valuable work.

What You’ll Own

  • Prioritization, sprint planning, and delivery for all EDI-related work
  • A large backlog — organizing, sequencing, and refining it into a clear, actionable roadmap
  • Writing requirements and user stories that keep the team moving
  • Running Agile ceremonies (no Scrum Master currently in place)
  • Managing incidents, enhancements, platform stability work, and operational needs
  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders across the business, technical teams, and trading partners
  • Making tough prioritization calls and clearly explaining the “why” behind them
  • Maintaining a forward-looking view of upcoming sprints and delivery expectations

What Success Looks Like

  • You understand the EDI platform well enough to know what matters, what’s urgent, and how to sequence work
  • You can articulate a clear vision for the next 1–3 sprints
  • You keep the team focused, aligned, and productive
  • You stay composed under pressure and bring order to chaos
  • You can translate complex technical realities into clear, audience-appropriate communication
  • You demonstrate true ownership — not just managing a board, but driving outcomes

What You Bring

  • Proven Product Owner experience with strong delivery leadership
  • Healthcare + EDI experience — you understand the ecosystem you’re stepping into
  • Experience managing large, complex backlogs
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile, story pointing, definition of ready/done, and capacity planning
  • Ability to lead without being a technical expert — you know how to ask the right questions
  • Exceptional communication skills tailored to developers, leadership, and business stakeholders
  • Ability to stay calm, organized, and effective in high-pressure environments
  • A strategic mindset paired with tactical execution skills

If you’re energized by complex data ecosystems, cross‑functional collaboration, and meaningful impact in healthcare technology, we’d love to connect.
