JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Overview:
The Sr. Employee Relations Specialist role involves providing comprehensive support to employees and managers in various HR capacities. Working closely with HR Business Partners, this role includes addressing employee relations issues, implementing corrective actions, and managing terminations. The Sr. Employee Relations Specialist also conducts investigations, develops performance improvement plans, and ensures compliance with company policies and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Partner with HR Business Partners to provide comprehensive support to employees and managers on topics such as AskHR escalations, employee relations, corrective actions, performance improvement plans, terminations, and Workday org changes, to enhance employee experience.
- Offer guidance and support to employees and managers on a range of employee relations issues.
- Collaborate with managers to implement corrective actions in compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
- Ensure accurate updates to organizational structures in Workday, including manager and supervisory org changes, position closures, and job change requests.
- Conduct thorough investigations into employee-related issues and provide recommendations for appropriate actions.
- Partner with managers to develop and execute performance improvement plans for employees.
- Address escalated inquiries concerning HR policies and assist in facilitating requests for modifications or the creation of new employee relations-related policies.
- Analyze exit interview data to identify trends and insights for organizational improvement.
- Manage Workday tasks related to termination processes, including initiating involuntary tasks and preparing severance documentation.
- Generate employee relations reports and provide strategic insights to HR Business Partners.
- Design and deliver training sessions on relevant employee relations topics for employees and managers.
- Offer prompt escalation support for additional AskHR cases as needed, ensuring efficient resolution of employee inquiries and concerns.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of employee relations experience.
- Strong understanding of HR policies, procedures, and employment law.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems, preferably Workday.
