Job Title: Senior Generative AI Engineer
Location: Charlotte, NC – Onsite (5 days/week mandatory)
Contract Length: 6 months
Pay Rate: $53/hr - $57/hr

This role involves participating in and contributing to moderately complex initiatives within Software Engineering. You will engage in large-scale planning, analyze complex technical challenges, and collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality software solutions. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, develop, test, and deploy sophisticated Generative AI applications, working within a dedicated engineering pod to translate architectural designs into robust, scalable, and secure software.
- Design, develop, test, and deploy enterprise-grade Generative AI applications.
- Build and implement agentic AI solutions using LLMs, APIs, and orchestration frameworks.
- Apply prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), fine-tuning, and structured AI design patterns.
- Integrate AI/LLM solutions with enterprise systems and data platforms.
- Develop and maintain Python-based services and REST APIs.
- Deploy and manage applications using containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
- Collaborate with engineering pods, product teams, and technical leadership to meet project goals.
- Troubleshoot complex application and AI model issues and contribute to the continuous improvement of AI systems.
- Implement governance, security, and compliance controls for AI solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in AI engineering.
- Stay current on advancements in AI, LLMs, and agent-based architectures.
- 4+ years of software engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of work experience, training, military service, or education.
- 2+ years of experience working with Generative AI, large language models, or foundation models.
- 2+ years of experience with Python.
- 2+ years of experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, Azure, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
- 2+ years of experience with REST API development and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- 2+ years of experience using Git for source code version control, including branching and pull requests.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) or UiPath.
- Knowledge of agentic frameworks like LangChain and workflow orchestration.
- Experience with vector databases and retrieval systems (e.g., Elasticsearch, Pinecone, Weaviate).
- Experience with LLM evaluation, observability, and monitoring.
- Background in highly regulated industries, such as financial services.
- Familiarity with responsible AI principles and governance processes.
The pay rate for this position is between $53 and $57 per hour. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or relocation assistance.
