Role: Web Content Strategist

Supporting: Large Financial Services Client

Location: Merrifield, VA (Hybrid)

Assignment Type: Contract Only

Duration: ~ 6 Months

 

Role Overview:

This is a highly strategic, SEO-driven content role focused on researching, planning, and delivering online financial education content. You will own the content brief process, manage a production calendar, and collaborate across stakeholders to ensure high-quality, search-optimized web content. This role blends content strategy, editorial oversight, and technical SEO execution, making it a great fit for someone who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative digital environments. Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and write detailed content briefs (audience, keywords, structure, SEO strategy)
  • Manage and support execution of the content production calendar
  • Convert Word documents into web articles using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
  • Edit and optimize copy for search, ensuring alignment with brand voice and standards
  • Create and distribute content proofs via Adobe Workfront for stakeholder feedback
  • Incorporate revisions from multiple stakeholders (marketing, compliance, business partners, etc.)
  • Track edits across multiple versions and ensure timely approvals
  • Apply SEO best practices (keyword usage, structure, anchor links)
  • Maintain an approachable, informative tone focused on educating users
  • Represent the content team in cross-functional meetings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills with a sharp editorial eye
  • Extensive experience in web content production and planning
  • Proven expertise in on-page SEO and use of SEO tools
  • Experience managing content workflows, stakeholder reviews, and deadlines
  • Intermediate knowledge of HTML/CSS
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word (track changes, formatting, comments)
  • Experience simplifying complex concepts into clear, engaging content
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
  • Preferred: Experience with CMS platforms (AEM, Wordpress, etc.) and web analytics tools

Compensation and Benefits: The pay rate for this position is between $40.00 and $59.50 per hour. Please note that the final rate may be contingent on experience and other factors.
