Location: Remote

Pay Rate: $60-$80 / hr

 

Role Overview

We are seeking a Security Engineer to help design, build, and operate enterprise security telemetry, observability, and analytics capabilities within a cloud-based environment. This role is responsible for managing modern observability platforms, developing telemetry pipelines, improving security visibility, and supporting detection engineering efforts across a large-scale enterprise environment. The ideal candidate has experience with AWS cloud-native observability, SIEM, and security analytics platforms such as Coralogix, Datadog, Dynatrace, New Relic, Sumo Logic, or similar technologies.

 

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and optimize security observability, SIEM, telemetry, and analytics platforms.
  • Design and maintain telemetry collection and data ingestion pipelines for enterprise logging.
  • Onboard, normalize, and enrich log and telemetry sources.
  • Develop and tune security detections, alerts, dashboards, and threat hunting content.
  • Support incident response, investigations, and security operations workflows.
  • Integrate observability platforms with cloud services, automation tools, and operational systems.
  • Implement access controls, auditing, retention, and data governance requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to improve visibility and detection coverage.
  • Evaluate new technologies and contribute to observability and security monitoring strategy.
  • Identify and develop tasks, dependencies, timelines, and deliverables.
Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of cybersecurity, observability, SIEM, security analytics, or logging platform experience.
  • Experience administering or engineering one or more modern observability, SIEM, and analytics platforms such as Coralogix, Datadog, Dynatrace, New Relic, or Sumo Logic.
  • Experience designing and operating telemetry, logging, or monitoring pipelines.
  • Experience with enterprise telemetry collection, observability pipelines, or OpenTelemetry-based architectures.
  • Experience developing detections, dashboards, threat hunting content, or security analytics use cases with tools listed.
  • Experience supporting cloud-native environments and SaaS-based observability or security analytics platforms.
  • Experience with scripting or automation using Python, Bash, or similar languages.
  • Experience in engineering a Splunk SIEM, and having tested/integrated Coralogix or similar SIEMs.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience supporting enterprise logging, observability, or security analytics transformations.
  • Experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native telemetry architectures.
  • Experience with behavioral analytics, UEBA, or threat hunting programs.
  • Experience integrating observability platforms with ITSM, SOAR, UEBA, or automation platforms.
  • Experience in integrating scanning tools, integration with ITSM (ServiceNow), Trellix, Palo Alto NGFW into a SIEM.
  • Experience working within regulated or compliance-driven environments (e.g., Federal Government, Financial).
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale security operations programs.
  • Experience in developing project management workflows for integration, deployment, and enhancements.
  • Relevant certifications such as vendor certifications in observability, cloud, SIEM, or security analytics platforms; GIAC GCED, GCIH, GCIA; AWS Security Specialty; or supplementary certifications like CISSP, CISM, or Security+.

This role requires a demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and drive adoption across a matrixed program organization. It also requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to drive platform adoption and operational maturity across multiple teams.
