Looking for candidates in the following areas as will need to go into the office 2 days a week - SP, Atlanta, Chicago and NY.


The purpose of this role is to oversee the coordination and integration of project governance, portfolio financials, demand, and resource development functions within the Program Management Office (PMO), ensuring alignment and synergy across initiatives. This role involves managing cross-functional portfolio initiatives with a consistent philosophy to drive successful execution.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

o Oversee Project Management Office (PMO), project governance and demand activities across relevant portfolios.

o Ensure skilled project PM resources are placed on projects.

o Ensure effective project initiation readiness by assessing plans, stakeholder engagement, and dependencies.

o Support PMO stage gate and funding process adherence.

o Monitor inflight programs and projects for alignment with business outcomes.

o Manage budgeted resources by forecasting needs and accounting for expenses.

o Manage coordination with Risk, Governance and Performance Management on Project Quality audit plans.

o Manage risk and audit requirements, including annual testing, control readiness, and remediation tracking.

o Manage project and portfolio financials, including budgeting, forecasting, funding oversight and financial performance tracking to support strategic decision making and portfolio delivery.


Work Experience:


Necessary Work Experience includes:

o Moderate relevant experience.


Preferred Work Experience includes:

o Experience in project staff practice and talent development.

o Experience in PMO and project governance.

o Experience in project staffing and capacity planning.

o Experience in project delivery and project management methodologies such as SDLC.

o Experience in portfolio and project financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, funding oversight, and financial performance tracking.


Qualifications:


Necessary Qualifications include:

o Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Please see job description. This is critical role overseeing our Program Management Office, including a team of PMO analysts. The role is dynamic depending on the issues needing to be resolved and timing as there are also regular monthly routines, so each day is different.


Typical responsibilities (either directly or through team resources) include:

• Resolving project governance issues

• Managing demand activities across relevant portfolios.

• Ensuring skilled project PM resources are placed on projects.

• Supporting project reviews and funding process adherence

• Developing monthly/quarterly portfolio updates for senior leadership

• Managing budgeted resources by forecasting needs and accounting for expenses.

• Managing coordination with Risk, Governance and Performance Management on Project Quality audit plans.

• Managing project and portfolio financials, including budgeting, forecasting, funding oversight and financial performance tracking to support strategic decision making and portfolio delivery

• Addressing ad hoc requests regarding projects from executives, project resources, stakeholders etc.


Technical Skills and Experience

What are the top 3 - 5 must have technical skills?

• Proven experience managing a Program Management Office

• Proven experience leading a team of PMO specialists

• Significant project financial skills and experience, i.e., forecasting, invoicing, accruals, etc.

• Proficiency with Planview strongly preferred, but not required

• Strong proficiency with MS Office apps – word, ppt, excel

• Experience with reporting and data tools – Power BI, Apps and Automate

• Knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile/Agile Methodologies
