NCDIT - EDO - Specialist- Mid Level/GIS Coordination Support Specialist

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina (Hybrid)

Role Overview

A support specialist is needed to assist the GIS Coordination Program Manager in the implementation of Geographic Information Coordinating Council (GICC) initiatives. This role involves providing administrative support for six subcommittees and technical support for working groups. The position works closely with the Program Manager to plan, develop, and evaluate Council policies, strategies, and initiatives. The work is primarily remote, with a requirement to be in the office one day per week.

 
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, developing, and evaluating Council policies, strategies, and initiatives.
  • Provide administrative support for six subcommittees and technical support for working groups.
  • Write charters, technical reports, updates, minutes, and framework dataset schemas.
  • Research technical solutions, create and update geospatial datasets, and develop online content including applications and websites.
  • Compile data from multiple sources and automate data edits using scripting or automation tools.
  • Perform quality checks on data for publication.
  • Communicate with working group members to document application or website needs and report on implementation options.
Required Qualifications

Technical Skills:

  • A strong understanding of ArcGIS Pro.
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS Online tools including Experience Builder, StoryMaps, and Survey123.
  • Experience with scripting or automation tools for data editing.
  • Knowledge of website design.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
 

Professional Skills:

  • Written communication skills for creating technical and administrative documents.
  • Ability to research technical solutions and report on findings.
