Job Title: Information Security Engineer 3 / Senior Firewall Engineer

Location: Irving (Las Colinas), TX / Charlotte, NC (Brevard) / Chandler, AZ – Hybrid

Contract Length: 6mo

Pay Rate: $53 - $57

Top Requirements:
  1. 2+ years of hands-on network security engineering experience with enterprise firewalls (Palo Alto preferred)
  2. Experience configuring and managing Palo Alto firewalls including Panorama (device groups, policy management, logging)
  3. Strong experience with firewall policy design, rulebase optimization, and security hardening
Plusses:
  1. Experience with Fortinet and Cisco networking technologies
  2. Experience with firewall migration tools (Expedition, FortiConverter, SmartMove)
  3. Background in large financial services or regulated environments
  4. Experience working in multi-vendor network security environments
  5. Strong troubleshooting and incident response experience
Job Summary:

In this contingent resource assignment, you may: Consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Information Security Engineering and contribute to large-scale planning related to Information Security Engineering deliverables. Review and analyze moderately complex Information Security Engineering challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Contribute to the resolution of moderately complex issues and consult with others to meet Information Security Engineering deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. Collaborate with client personnel in Information Security Engineering.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructures using Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Cisco technologies
  • Configure and manage firewall environments including Panorama (templates, policies, logging, dashboards)
  • Lead and support firewall migration efforts, including policy translation and deployment
  • Perform rulebase optimization, policy tuning, and compliance alignment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network security issues across multi-vendor environments
  • Build and expand secure network environments, including greenfield deployments
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to integrate security controls
  • Monitor and respond to security alerts, incidents, and vulnerabilities
  • Maintain documentation including network diagrams and configuration standards
  • Support incident response activities and root cause analysis
  • Participate in on-call rotation for critical support (as needed)
  • Stay current on emerging threats and continuously improve security posture
