US|Software Engineer II

Location: Coppell, Texas (Onsite)

Duration: 6-month Contract-Hire

Compensation: $65-$70/hr on W2


Role Overview

This position is for an Application Support Engineer who will specialize in maintaining and providing technical support for applications that are beyond the development stage and are running in daily operations. The role involves creating, designing, deploying, and supporting software solutions. This individual will work closely with development teams, infrastructure partners, and clients to escalate and resolve technical support incidents.

 

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in design reviews and delivery planning to champion non-functional requirements such as resiliency, observability, and disaster recovery.
  • Collaborate with Major Release Management to ensure each release meets SRE standards for observability and resiliency.
  • Define and evolve monitoring, alerting, SLIs, and SLOs, leveraging AI/ML-driven analytics for anomaly detection and risk identification.
  • Make design recommendations to enable quick detection of outage conditions and allow for application recovery without manual intervention.
  • Drive automation and intelligent tooling to reduce manual toil and improve consistency and recovery times.
  • Attend and present operational readiness at project management meetings, raising any operational risks and concerns.
  • Lead capacity planning and performance analysis to ensure platforms scale reliably under high load.
  • Establish KPIs and operational metrics to demonstrate reliability improvements and operational maturity.
  • Build a strong SRE culture across Application Support and Development through mentorship and best-practice coaching.
Required Qualifications

Experience: A minimum of 8 years of related technical and management experience is required.

 

Education: A Bachelor's degree is preferred, or equivalent experience.

 

Technical Skills: Proven experience with SRE or DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automation frameworks. Strong understanding of monitoring and observability platforms, such as Grafana. Programming proficiency in one or more languages such as Python, Java, or Go for automation and tooling development.

 

Preferred Qualifications
  • Cloud certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerized environments, and hybrid infrastructure models.
  • Experience in financial services, capital markets, or regulated environments.
  • Demonstrated participation in disaster recovery, performance, and resiliency testing.
  • Knowledge of AI concepts, data platforms, messaging systems, and large-scale processing systems.
  • Strong collaboration skills across technology and business teams.
  • Hands-on experience in incident and problem management, including root cause analysis.
