Sensory & Product Insights Analyst

Location: Seattle, Washington (Onsite)

 
Role Overview

We are seeking a Sensory and Product Insights Analyst to join a collaborative and supportive team. This role involves conducting product and consumer research and analyzing the resulting data to ensure optimized product acceptance and ongoing quality. The position offers an opportunity to be at the forefront of innovation for beverage and food products, working with existing and new items alongside many cross-functional partners.

 
Key Responsibilities
  • Organize and execute internal tests in a scientific manner, ensuring personnel resources are available.
  • Organize and conduct shelf-life testing.
  • Analyze sensory data and write clear, understandable technical reports with actionable recommendations.
  • Develop, expand, and maintain databases of panelists and sensory data.
  • Understand and utilize discrimination, descriptive, and affective sensory tests.
  • Develop questionnaires to understand consumer behavior.
  • Train technicians on product preparation and test execution.
  • Support the manager and senior analyst in test design and completion.
  • Maintain lab stock supplies, organization, and cleanliness.
  • Assist in developing tools and documentation for sensory evaluator training materials.
  • Manage administrative aspects of multiple simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications

Experience: 3+ years of consumer or market research, including at least 1 year of data analysis. Experience in product development for QA within the food industry is required.

 

Technical Skills: Proficient in statistical analysis and interpretation of sensory data. Must be comfortable working in a lab setting with a science background and have a strong proficiency with technology and social media platforms. Experience with MS Word and Excel is necessary.

 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with sensory software such as Compusense or Red Jade.
  • Experience with research design.
  • Corporate experience in a similar role.
