Job Description:
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (Onsite)
This role supports in-shop operations and field service for specialized equipment used in the pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing industry. The Assembly Mechanic will have responsibilities spanning the assembly, testing, installation, and servicing of equipment. The majority of the work will be performed in the shop located in Charlotte, NC, with the potential for up to 10% travel for on-site installation or commissioning.
- Assemble and test specialized equipment prior to shipment to customers.
- Perform Tig welding on stainless steel components.
- Read and interpret technical drawings to ensure proper assembly.
- Support in-shop operations and occasional field service activities.
- Collaborate with clients during the assembly and testing process.
- Assist with shipping and receiving logistics as needed.
- Operate within a team structure that includes supervisors, other mechanics, and support staff.
- Work closely with office-based sales and engineering employees.
- 5+ years of mechanical assembly experience.
- Proficiency in Tig welding, specifically with stainless steel.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Previous electrical experience.
- Experience with forklift and overhead crane operation.
The position is based in a shop environment and operates on a standard schedule of Monday through Friday, from approximately 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. While most weeks consist of 40 hours, flexibility for occasional overtime may be required to address urgent repair work. This role is part of a collaborative campus where the shop and office are co-located, fostering interaction between different departments.
