Job Description:
📍 San Diego, CA (Hybrid – Onsite Mon–Thurs | Remote Fri)
Apex Systems is supporting a leading energy utility in San Diego in hiring an Environmental Queue Coordinator to support high-volume environmental project workflows. This role sits at the center of project intake, routing, and tracking across environmental review teams, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution.

- Manage intake and processing of environmental project submittals within internal tracking systems
- Route projects to environmental SMEs and monitor review progress through completion
- Track key performance metrics (KPIs), timelines, and workflow status
- Perform QA/QC checks to ensure data accuracy and reporting integrity
- Generate and maintain reports to support compliance and operational needs
- Troubleshoot system issues and partner with IT on enhancements and upgrades
- Train and support stakeholders on environmental workflow tools and systems
- Collaborate with submitters, reviewers, and internal teams to ensure smooth workflow execution
- 2+ years of experience in utilities, environmental, or a related field
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain data accuracy
- Experience working in high-volume, queue-based environments
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across multiple teams
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with data tracking or workflow systems
- Exposure to SharePoint, SAP, or ECM tools is a plus
- Familiarity with Power BI or Power Automate is preferred
- Basic understanding of environmental regulations or permitting processes
- Experience supporting infrastructure, construction, or energy-related projects
- Exposure to GIS or location-based data
