IT - Test Engineer IV

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Test Engineer to provide expertise to an enterprise test team focused on implementing more automated testing on both front-end and back-end systems. The ideal candidate will collaborate with testers and developers to ensure quality and security are built into solutions and that production deployments are error-free. This role involves conducting functional, regression, and system integration testing, documenting results, and working with team members to resolve issues.

 

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop test system modifications or new development for implementation across multiple projects.
  • Lead the creation of test automation frameworks and perform testing of developer applications.
  • Develop automated testing programs addressing database impacts, software scenarios, security, and usability.
  • Lead automation, integration, and test efforts to ensure defects are mitigated.
  • Coordinate the testing of software defects, enhancements, and upgrades with users and other application teams.
  • Lead the development and execution of automation test scripts using tools such as Selenium.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, infrastructure, and operations.
  • Support test events including system, integration, independent verification and validation, and user acceptance tests.
  • Participate in all Scrum ceremonies as part of an Agile team.
  • Ensure compliance with Section 508 accessibility standards.
  • Lead the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integration, and testing tools.
  • Maintain and upkeep the implemented test automation suite on a release basis.
  • Manage source code repositories, JIRA, and Confluence.
Required Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor of Science degree is required.

 

Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years with Agile Methodologies and the Kanban Framework. A minimum of 3 years of experience is required in Functional Testing, Integration Testing, System Acceptance Testing, and User Acceptance Testing phases.

 

Technical Skills: Proficiency with open-source automation tools (Selenium Web Driver, Cucumber, Gherkin) and experience with SCM solutions (GitLab, Artifactory), build tools, and scripting in languages such as UNIX-based scripting or Python.

 

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD).
  • Familiarity with LoadRunner, jFrog, Amazon Cloud Services, HTML, XML, and ServiceNow.
  • Proficiency with the Java programming language.
