We are hiring a Release Train Engineer!


Role: Release Train Engineer (RTE)

Supporting: Large Financial Services Client

Location: Pensacola, FL (Hybrid)

Assignment Type: Contract

Duration: ~ 5 months

As a Release Train Engineer, you will lead the coordination and execution of Agile Release Train (ART) events, ensuring alignment across teams and delivering value at scale.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate key ART events including PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, System Demos, PO Sync, and Inspect & Adapt sessions
  • Serve as the escalation point for impediments and proactively remove blockers impacting delivery
  • Drive alignment of work to the value stream and ensure teams meet Program Increment (PI) objectives
  • Own and manage RAID/ROAM logs, ensuring risks and dependencies are actively tracked and resolved
  • Coordinate dependencies across teams and programs to ensure seamless delivery
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify and address resource and tooling needs
  • Develop and manage release plans, timelines, and program communications
  • Track and report performance metrics including release burn-down and delivery progress
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, Architecture, and delivery teams
  • Coach and mentor Scrum Masters and teams to strengthen Agile maturity
  • Foster a Lean/Agile mindset and promote continuous improvement
  • Support Agile training initiatives and contribute to building a strong Agile community
  • Resolve team conflicts and promote a collaborative, high-performing environment

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in Information Technology
  • Proven experience leading Agile transformations across teams, programs, or portfolios
  • Strong background as a Scrum Master, Delivery Lead, or RTE in complex environments
  • Hands-on experience with Agile tools such as Jira, Rally, or Azure DevOps
  • Expertise in building dashboards and reporting metrics that demonstrate value delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and drive outcomes
  • Experience coaching and mentoring teams to adopt Agile best practices
  • Ability to manage risks, dependencies, and complex release plans effectively
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • Experience working in matrixed, cross-functional environments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAFe RTE, Leading SAFe, or Advanced Scrum Master certification
  • PMP or SAFe Program Consultant certification
  • Experience working in large-scale Agile transformations

Compensation and Benefits: The pay rate for this position is between $30.00 and $49.75 per hour. Please note that the final rate may be contingent on experience and other factors.
