Supporting: Large Financial Services Client

Location: Onsite – McLean, VA

Assignment Type: Contract to Hire

Duration: ~12 Months

Role Overview:

We’re looking for a highly experienced Solution Architect Specialist who excels at solving complex business challenges through scalable, forward-thinking architecture. This role is ideal for a senior technologist with deep Java expertise who can bridge business needs and technical solutions while driving enterprise-level transformation. You’ll play a critical role in defining architectural vision, partnering with stakeholders, and leading modernization initiatives across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and drive end-to-end solution architecture aligned to business objectives
• Translate complex business problems into scalable, high-quality technical solutions
• Establish and enforce architecture standards, design patterns, and frameworks
• Collaborate with stakeholders, product teams, and engineering to align on solution design
• Lead architectural strategy across multiple initiatives and portfolios
• Design modern, cloud-native and distributed system architectures
• Support full lifecycle delivery including design, deployment, and post-production support
• Identify and evaluate new technologies, including AI/ML, to enhance capabilities
• Provide guidance on application modernization and legacy system re-platforming
• Partner with development teams to ensure adherence to architecture standards

Qualifications:

• 18+ years of overall IT experience
• 15+ years of hands-on Java development experience (strong ability to analyze code and systems)
• 8–10+ years of Solution Architecture experience
• Proven expertise in design patterns and architectural patterns
• Experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale applications
• Strong experience with modern cloud-native architectures and distributed systems
• Demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders and drive technical solutions to complex problems
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with AI/ML or Generative AI is a plus

Compensation and Benefits: The pay rate for this position is between $67.00 and $89.32 per hour. Please note that the final rate may be contingent on experience and other factors.
