Role: Documentation Specialist (I, II, III, Senior)

Supporting: Large Financial Services Client

Location: Hybrid - Candidate can be located in Pensacola, FL, Winchester, VA, or Vienna, VA

Assignment Type: Contract Only

Duration: ~ 6 Months

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research, write, edit, and maintain policies, procedures, manuals, and intranet content
  • Ensure documentation is clear, accurate, consistent, and aligned with established standards
  • Manage documentation deliverables to meet timelines and stakeholder expectations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define user needs
  • Review policy and procedure updates for completeness, technical accuracy, and compliance
  • Maintain and organize documentation libraries to ensure content remains current
  • Identify and resolve project risks, issues, and gaps related to documentation
  • Provide end-user training on manuals, systems, and reference materials
  • Support development and administration of intranet (eNet) content
  • (Mid–Senior Levels) Lead projects, mentor team members, and drive communication strategies
  • (Senior Level) Oversee complex initiatives, manage stakeholder expectations, and lead content strategy and quality assurance

Qualifications:

  • Experience writing and editing clear, concise documentation for business or technical audiences
  • Strong ability to research, compile, and translate complex processes into simple terms
  • Experience managing multiple priorities independently and within teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Knowledge of web-based tools and documentation platforms (HTML familiarity preferred)
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines
  • (Mid–Senior Levels) Experience leading projects and mentoring others
  • (Senior Level) Advanced expertise in documentation strategy, change management, and large-scale initiatives
  • Preferred: Degree in Communications, English, Journalism, or related field (or equivalent experience)

 

Compensation and Benefits: The pay rate for this position is between $20.00 and $25.50 per hour. Please note that the final rate may be contingent on experience and other factors.
