Sr Compute Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Findlay, Ohio (Onsite)

 
Role Overview

This role is a senior hands-on engineering position focused on enterprise server hardware, virtualization platforms, and associated infrastructure services. The successful candidate will support the OT Compute team and be responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of compute platforms supporting critical Operational Technology (OT) environments. The initial engagement will focus on lifecycle management initiatives including hardware standardization, supportability tracking, inventory governance, and platform upgrades.

 
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, administer, and support enterprise compute infrastructure platforms.
  • Deploy and maintain physical server infrastructure across data center and remote site environments.
  • Implement and support virtualization platforms and associated management systems.
  • Perform platform upgrades, migrations, lifecycle activities, and remediation efforts.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Support highly available and mission-critical OT infrastructure environments.
  • Support lifecycle planning for compute hardware and virtualization platforms.
  • Develop and maintain standard hardware configurations and approved platform offerings.
  • Develop and maintain engineering standards, operational procedures, and support documentation.
  • Provide technical recommendations regarding compute platforms, hardware standards, and operational improvements.
Required Qualifications

Experience: 7+ years of infrastructure engineering experience. Strong hands-on experience supporting enterprise compute and virtualization platforms, including implementing and supporting production environments. Experience with planning and executing infrastructure upgrades and modernization initiatives is also required.

 

Technical Skills: Experience with several of the following technologies is required: HPE ProLiant Servers, Dell PowerEdge Servers, Cisco UCS, VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Nutanix, Windows Server, Linux, Enterprise Storage Platforms, and Enterprise Backup and Recovery Platforms.

 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Operational Technology (OT) environments.
  • Experience supporting highly available and mission-critical infrastructure platforms.
  • Experience developing hardware standards and standard platform offerings.
  • Experience leading hardware refresh or platform modernization initiatives.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management technologies (e.g., PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform).
  • Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
  • Experience operating within Agile or SAFe delivery organizations.
  • Experience with one or more of the following tools: VMware Aria, ServiceNow, HPE OneView, Dell OpenManage, VMware vCenter, Windows Admin Center, GitHub, or Azure DevOps.
