Location: Lewiston, Idaho (Onsite)
Employment Type: 3 month Contract, potential to become FTE
This role contributes to overall member satisfaction by providing support in document processing, imaging, and mail operations. The specialist will operate and maintain equipment used in automated mailing, imaging, and shipping processes. This position involves sorting, preparing, scanning, and processing documents, mail, and packages while ensuring quality and confidentiality.
- Sort and prepare documents for imaging by opening envelopes, removing staples, and organizing contents.
- Utilize imaging scanners to index and scan claims, membership documents, and corporate records.
- Verify imaged documents for quality and legibility and commit them to the appropriate systems.
- Operate and monitor mail processing equipment, including inserters, sorters, and postage meters.
- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail and packages.
- Perform daily preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
- Maintain confidentiality of all processed materials and sensitive information.
- Ensure adequate stock of supplies for daily operations.
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Experience: Basic experience in a mail center, imaging, inventory, or office setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills:
- Basic math and PC skills.
- Ability to follow detailed work procedures under pressure.
- Flexibility in working hours and excellent attendance.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and organizational skills.
- Basic knowledge of U.S. Postal Service mailing rules and regulations.
- Work is performed in a high-volume processing and office/mailroom environment.
- Duties may require standing or walking for 50-100% of the day while monitoring equipment.
- Some tasks are performed while sitting for 50-100% of the day, operating equipment with constant hand-eye coordination.
- The environment may be noisy with exposure to paper dust and laser printer toner. Hearing protection is recommended and provided.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Overtime may be required.
- This is a non-smoking environment.
- Repetitively lift materials up to 50 lbs from the floor to waist level.
- Occasionally lift up to 70 lbs from the floor to waist level.
- Repetitively reach to clear mail bins from a height of 24 to 65 inches.
- Bend, stoop, twist, and kneel throughout the day.
- Handle chemicals such as ink, cleaning solvents, and lubricating oils.
