Cloud Engineer

Location: Chandler, Arizona (Hybrid)

Duration: 12 months

Payrate: $60 - 66.73/hr

 

Role Overview

This role is responsible for defining an architectural vision and solution architecture for the defined domain which aligns with the enterprise architecture strategy, technology, and platform choices. The architect ensures the solution is fit for purpose by working with stakeholders and evaluating the impact of strategic design decisions. This position requires local candidates who are available for a hybrid work schedule, with three days onsite per week.

 

Key Responsibilities
  • Work across business and technology to create the solution intent and architectural vision, evolving it into an emerging backlog.
  • Consult with business units to understand challenges and devise creative solutions through domain knowledge and Proof of Concepts (POCs).
  • Lead the rapid shaping of a high-level, flexible, and modular architecture that adapts to emerging business requirements.
  • Utilize and improve upon best practices, templates, and documentation to create architectural designs.
  • Work with Product Owners to plan and prioritize technology-focused backlog items for the architecture runway.
  • Clarify architecture and assist with system design for development teams to support implementation.
  • Perform design and code reviews to ensure non-functional requirements like security, performance, and scalability are met.
  • Educate team members on technology practices, standardization strategies, and best practices.
Required Qualifications

Experience: 2-5 years of experience designing enterprise-scale public cloud environments.

 

Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with Terraform and Python is required. Candidates must have experience designing large-scale container platforms and a foundation in core infrastructure functions such as networking, Linux administration, and storage.
