Job Description:
Location: Richmond, Virginia (Onsite)
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer for a role focused on electrical systems analysis. This position involves performing fault, coordination, and arc flash analysis. The role is 100% onsite.
- Develop software functional specifications and P&IDs.
- Develop and troubleshoot PLC programs using ladder and function block.
- Configure HMI and DCS applications.
- Design controls networks using multiple hardware and software platforms.
- Develop drawings and wiring schematics for instrumentation, communications networks, and control panels with a bill of materials (BOM).
- Develop and troubleshoot instrumentation, including flowmeters, analyzers, motors, and valves.
- Perform detailed system research and recommend project components to clients.
- Provide technical support to other engineering groups, departments, vendors, and customers.
- Manage project development, scoping, schedule, and team correspondence.
- Travel to local customer sites to support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
Education: A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) is required.
Experience: A minimum of 4 years of instrumentation and controls engineering or technician experience is required. This must include installation and maintenance of PLC/HMI and instrumentation systems in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Experience with electrical systems analysis using SKM, ETAP, or similar software for fault, coordination, and arc flash analysis is also required.
Technical Skills: Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical, controls, and instrumentation systems. Must be experienced with at least six different PLC and HMI products.
- A Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
- 7+ years of relevant experience.
