Location: Woodlawn, Maryland (Remote)
We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join a team of qualified, diverse professionals supporting a high-visibility modernization effort. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining and advancing the continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) ecosystem, ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient deployment pipelines across cloud-based environments. This position will be critical in driving automation, enhancing infrastructure scalability, and supporting mission-essential production operations.
- Maintain, enhance, and support CI/CD pipeline components for production implementation across monthly release cycles.
- Design and manage automated build, test, and deployment workflows ensuring reliability, repeatability, and compliance with security and quality gates.
- Monitor pipeline health, identify bottlenecks, and troubleshoot deployment issues across development, integration, staging, and production environments.
- Implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions using tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
- Support containerized application deployment leveraging Kubernetes, Docker, and orchestration best practices.
- Manage cloud infrastructure using expert-level knowledge of AWS services, including compute, networking, storage, IAM, and monitoring.
- Integrate DevSecOps principles into pipelines and environments, including automated security scanning and compliance checks.
- Develop automation scripts and tooling in languages such as Python, Java, or Go to optimize system performance.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting capabilities using solutions such as AWS CloudWatch or Datadog.
- Collaborate with development, QA, security, and operations teams in an Agile environment.
- Document system configurations, pipeline designs, and operational procedures.
- Provide on-call or escalation support for production deployments and critical incidents as required.
Education and Experience:
- 5 years of experience with a BS/BA degree; 3 years with an MS/MA degree; or a PhD.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Demonstrable experience supporting and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in enterprise-scale environments.
- Expert-level proficiency with AWS services and cloud-native architectures.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code technologies (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Proficiency with containerization and orchestration technologies (Kubernetes, Docker).
- Experience with monitoring and observability tooling (CloudWatch, Datadog, or comparable).
- Proficiency with at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Go.
- Experience implementing DevSecOps practices within CI/CD workflows.
- Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.
- AWS DevSecOps Engineer certification.
- Additional AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, Developer).
- Experience supporting large-scale or federal enterprise environments, including compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST, RMF).
- Experience automating zero-downtime or blue/green deployments.
- Background with GitOps practices and tooling (e.g., ArgoCD, Flux).
- Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Familiarity with legacy-to-cloud modernization or hybrid cloud environments.
- Knowledge of secure network architectures and IAM best practices.
- Active or prior Public Trust clearance.
