Production Support Engineer

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (Onsite)

Duration: 12 months

Payrate: $35 - 41/hr on W2


Role Overview

The Production Services member identifies possible production failure scenarios, creates incident tickets, and communicates with development and internal business operations teams. This role involves identifying vulnerabilities, maintaining metrics for improvement, and enhancing operational procedures. The position requires performing analysis, research, and resolution of issues using advanced query and programming skills.

 

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage problems, incidents, releases, and deployments.
  • Oversee operational readiness, capacity management, and application monitoring.
  • Handle service analytics, reporting, and production governance.
  • Provide triage and associate support for change and configuration management.
  • Identify production failure scenarios and create incident or enhancement tickets.
  • Take ownership of escalations to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve issues.
  • Perform analytical, technical, and administrative work in supporting new and existing equipment and software.
  • Consult with end users to determine optimal configuration of equipment and applications.
Required Qualifications

Experience:

  • 5 or more years in Java development, Production Support, or Performance Testing.
  • 5 or more years working in a Linux environment.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Core Java.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Datadog, or New Relic.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: AppDynamics, Introscope, or Dynatrace.
  • Scripting in Bash and/or Powershell.

 

Preferred Qualifications
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to run triage meetings and document outcomes.
  • Proficient in debugging and troubleshooting.
  • Aptitude for learning new technologies and adapting to a dynamic work environment.
  • Flexibility in work hours to support production issues after hours and on weekends.
