Material Handler III (Warehouse Operations)

Location: Milpitas, CA (100% onsite)

Schedule: Day Shift (6:00 AM – 3:00 PM start time range)

Employment Type: 12-month Contract

Compensation: $20-23 an hour on W2


Overview

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Material Handler III to support warehouse operations for a leading technology-driven organization in the Bay Area. This role blends administrative and hands-on responsibilities, with a strong emphasis on data entry, inventory tracking, and cross-functional coordination.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, is highly organized, and is comfortable balancing computer-based work with occasional physical tasks.


Key Responsibilities
  • Perform high-volume data entry and inventory updates with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Support shipping and receiving operations, including verifying incoming materials against purchase orders
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and transactions
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely movement and tracking of materials
  • Prepare materials for shipment, including documentation and labeling
  • Assist with stocking, kitting, and distributing materials to support production needs
  • Inspect incoming goods, identify discrepancies, and escalate issues as needed
  • Utilize internal systems and tools (including Excel and email platforms) for tracking and communication
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or material handling roles
  • Strong data entry and computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-team coordination
  • Reliable, accountable, and willing to take initiative
  • Ability to perform light physical work as needed (standing, lifting, organizing materials)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to SAP or similar ERP systems
  • Experience with shipping/receiving workflows
  • Forklift experience (not required; minimal use in this role)
Work Environment & Schedule Expectations
  • Onsite role in a warehouse setting (Milpitas, CA)
  • Standard schedule is 40 hours/week; however, overtime is frequent and expected
  • Typical workload averages ~60 hours per week, including potential weekend shifts
  • Candidates must be flexible and open to extended hours based on business needs
