IT - Solutions Architect

Location: McLean, VA, Dallas, TX or Memphis, TN (Hybrid)

 

Role Overview

We are seeking a senior Security Solutions Architect to support customer-facing platforms, including web, mobile, APIs, and payments. This is a strategic, hands-on role focused on embedding security into the architecture design process throughout the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will collaborate with engineering, product, architecture, and security teams to deliver secure, resilient, and scalable solutions for large-scale, customer-facing environments.

 

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead secure solution design for APIs, cloud infrastructure, identity management, data flows, and system integrations.
  • Translate business and product requirements into secure architecture patterns and engineering guardrails.
  • Develop and maintain security reference architectures and reusable solution patterns for customer-facing platforms.
  • Conduct architecture reviews to identify security risks and define mitigation strategies.
  • Create and maintain solution architecture artifacts, including diagrams, data flows, and security control documentation.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to balance security requirements with scalability, performance, and delivery speed.
  • Support governance by reviewing proposed architectures, documenting risks, and helping teams resolve design gaps before implementation.
Required Qualifications
  • 7 years of professional experience in Technology, Software Engineering, Cyber Security, or Architecture.
  • 5 years of hands-on software engineering or application delivery experience.
  • 3 years of solution or enterprise architecture experience.
  • Strong experience in one or more of the following domains: Application/Product Security, API Security, Customer Identity (IAM), or Cloud Security (AWS preferred).
  • Deep understanding of authentication technologies such as OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and SAML.
  • Knowledge of secure SDLC, CI/CD security, encryption, secrets management, and logging/monitoring.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale, customer-facing platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or TOGAF.
  • Experience in the hospitality, ecommerce, financial services, payments, or travel industries.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as PCI DSS, GDPR, CCPA, NIST, or ISO 27001.
