Job Title: Instructional Designer
Location: Remote (Eastern Time Zone Preferred)
Overview
The Instructional Designer is responsible for designing and developing engaging learning solutions that support business objectives. This role applies established instructional design methodologies and works independently to create high quality training materials, while collaborating with stakeholders and adhering to defined standards and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
• Apply the ADDIE instructional design model to develop learning solutions
• Analyze source content and identify learning objectives and requirements
• Design and develop e learning courses using storyboards and source materials
• Create virtual instructor led training based on existing content and procedural documentation
• Develop job aids and supporting learning materials
• Utilize provided templates and follow established standards and guidelines
• Manage work independently with minimal oversight while seeking guidance as needed
• Meet established timelines and project deadlines
• Provide regular status updates and escalate risks or issues as appropriate
• Collaborate with team members using standard communication and collaboration tools
Required Qualifications
• Five years of experience in instructional design or learning and development
• Hands on experience with instructional design tools including:
- Articulate 360, including Storyline and Rise
- Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Camtasia
- • Strong ability to translate complex content into clear and engaging learning experiences
- • Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Learning and Performance, Education, Human Resources, Organizational Design, or a related field
• Experience working in a consumer focused organization
• Experience within a healthcare or insurance environment, including Apex Systems’ Healthcare Client
