Contractor - Enterprise Technology Systems

Location: Merrifield, Virginia (Hybrid)

 

Role Overview

We are seeking a candidate to support software development organizational initiatives. The role involves designing and implementing new systems and applications or modifying existing ones. This position requires collaboration with business units to identify requirements and working with team members to design, develop, implement, and maintain cost-effective information technology solutions that align with business initiatives and corporate strategies.

 

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, analyze, design, and maintain information technology solutions.
  • Work with customers to identify and document business requirements for data, workflow, and logical processes.
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain systems, including coding, testing, and debugging programs.
  • Revise and refine programs to account for changes in functional system requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational problems and system requirements.
  • Provide on-going maintenance and technical support for systems and applications.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for program development, logic, coding, and changes.
  • Collaborate with software developers and SQA analysts to investigate defects and bugs.
  • Design and develop test automation scripts using test automation frameworks.
Required Qualifications

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of distributed application programming experience in technologies such as Java, J2EE, and service-oriented architecture (SOA).
  • Demonstrated experience in systems analysis, design, workflow, or procedural analysis.
  • Experience in application development, including determining, developing, testing, and implementing system requirements.
  • Experience with established testing techniques and project leadership.
  • Experience with Data Migration and Mapping to Cloud solutions.
  • Experience with SFTP and Data File Transfers.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with middleware, integration technologies, and frameworks like JSP, JSTL, JMS, JNDI, JDBC, JAXB, Struts, Hibernate, Maven, log4j, and JUnit.
  • Understanding of Java Web Services (WSDL, SOAP, XML, RESTful).
  • Experience with relational databases such as DB2, SQL Server, or Oracle.
  • Knowledge of Mainframe systems.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks.

 

Preferred Qualifications
  • A college degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
  • Experience with DevOps and Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices.
  • Knowledge of financial/banking industry standards and compliance applications.
  • Experience in cloud development and knowledge of Scrum or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • IT Industry Certifications.
  • Knowledge of PowerBI, IBM Integration Bus (IIB) or App Connect Enterprise (ACE), Microsoft Dynamics, Pega, ServiceNow, and Azure DevOps (ADO).
  • Knowledge of Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) systems.
Work Environment
  • May be required to work occasionally outside normal working hours.
  • May be on call to provide technical support.
