Job Description:
Location: Chandler, Arizona (Hybrid)
We are seeking a skilled Cloud Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and large-scale VMware environments. This role is critical in the enterprise adoption of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and focuses on designing, automating, and operating a scalable internal cloud platform. The SRE will help establish a fully automated, repeatable, and secure software-defined environment to enable modern application delivery and accelerate cloud standardization across the organization.
- Design, automate, and operate a scalable internal cloud platform built on VCF 9.x, vSphere, NSX-T, Aria Suite, and OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) on vSphere.
- Establish a fully automated, repeatable, and secure software-defined environment for consistent deployment across teams.
- Integrate Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) into CI/CD pipelines and automated workflows.
- Manage cloud platform operations, including monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and development teams within an Agile framework.
Experience:
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with large-scale VMware environments, including VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9.x, vSphere, NSX-T, and Aria Suite (vRealize).
- Proven experience building and operating OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) on vSphere.
- Experience integrating IaC into CI/CD pipelines and automated workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to work in Agile environments.
Technical Skills:
- RedHat OpenShift
- Python
- Ansible
- Understanding of ITIL processes.
- Hands-on experience with Cohesity, Netbackup, or Avamar products.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git or Bitbucket.
- 5+ years of software development experience with some exposure to network programming and networking protocols.
- A solid understanding of network concepts, including load balancers, routing, subnets, and firewalls.
