Job Description:

Apex Systems is hiring a Human Resources Consultant for a large Healthcare client.

Location: Pasadena, California (Hybrid)

3-month contract with possibility to extend or convert.

 

Role Overview

This position involves participation in, and potential development and implementation of, company-wide HR programs and initiatives such as workforce planning and organizational change. The role requires working with management to implement corporate policies related to human resources, organizational development, and employee development. The consultant will advise employees and managers on human resources issues and assist in aligning HR strategies with business objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of HR roadmap initiatives.
  • Coach management and non-management employees to grow leadership and team capabilities.
  • Conduct and document investigations with a sense of urgency.
  • Identify and coordinate training solutions to support cultural change.
  • Advise on organizational and staff decisions, including employee relations, retention, staffing, and terminations.
  • Interpret and uphold HR policies and practices, advocating for changes where appropriate.
  • Contribute to complex team objectives to support client groups.
  • Facilitate group problem-solving and development sessions on human capital issues.

 

Required Qualifications

Education: A bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field, or equivalent experience.

 

Experience: 3+ years of professional experience, specifically with an investigations background, working with labor unions, and knowledge of California labor laws.

 

Skills: Demonstrated expertise in at least five of the following areas: change leadership, organizational design, leadership development, talent and team development, compensation management, legal and regulatory requirements, investigations, and employee and labor relations. Candidates must possess skills in coaching, influence, facilitation, and communication.

 

Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate coursework is preferred.
  • An SPHR certification is strongly preferred.
