Job Description:

Location: Remote (U.S.)

We are seeking a mid-level Systems Administrator/Engineer to take ownership of day-to-day operations. You will partner with internal teams to protect the brand, data, and IT assets from cyber-based threats by deploying, configuring, managing, and maintaining technologies and infrastructure. This role serves as a technical interface for cyber defense tools, articulating technology and product positioning to both business and technical users.

• Support the maintenance of IT and IT Security tools and systems.
• Deploy and maintain systems, performing general system administration tasks.
• Renew and update TLS certificates and manage server configurations.
• Respond to audit and enterprise hardening requests.
• Troubleshoot Linux OS and applications or Windows OS and applications.
• Provide on-call and after-hours support.
• Deploy and maintain COTS Cybersecurity applications and appliances across on-premise, SaaS, and IaaS environments.
• Remediate vulnerabilities on Windows and/or Linux systems.
• Contribute to and maintain internal engineering documentation.
• Monitor daily ticket queues for incidents and work ingestion.
• Conduct quarterly access reviews and biweekly patch validation.

Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in a large enterprise with a change management-focused environment.
• 3+ years minimum experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role.
• 3+ years of cybersecurity engineering or a related role, with an understanding of enterprise security best practices.
• Experience with infrastructure management processes such as change management, problem management, and configuration management.
• Hands-on experience in an Agile, specifically Kanban, workflow.

Technical Skills:

• Basic scripting ability (e.g., Ansible, Python, Bash, PowerShell, Ruby) to automate routine tasks.
• Strong ability to troubleshoot Linux operating systems (e.g., Centos, Red Hat, Ubuntu) OR Windows server operating systems.
• Experience patching and upgrading Linux and Windows based operating systems, packages, and applications.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles for hardening enterprise systems.
• Experience using or integrating SIEM technology.
• Knowledge of core network, firewall, routing, switching, load balancing, and proxy principles.

• Experience with Ansible.
• Experience managing Linux-based Java/Tomcat web applications or Windows .NET-based IIS applications in a clustered environment.
• Experience managing physical or virtual appliances with limited Linux-based OS CLI interfaces.
• Ability to read and understand a packet capture.
• Experience using Jira or Confluence.
