Location Notes:

  • The previous contractor was based in Houston and recently resigned.
  • Salt Lake City would be ideal, but the hiring manager is primarily focused on finding the right candidate regardless of location.
  • Project teams are located across Salt Lake City, Tulsa, and Houston.
Position Overview

This is a Senior Scheduler role supporting multiple project teams. The primary need is for someone who can step in immediately and manage a complex portfolio of project schedules with minimal ramp-up time.

The previous contractor gave notice last week, creating an immediate opening.

Required Experience
Must-Have Qualifications
  • Strong expertise with Oracle Primavera P6
  • Senior-level scheduling experience
  • Bachelor's degree (any field is acceptable with relevant scheduling experience)
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent project schedules
  • Experience developing and maintaining milestone-based schedules and critical path analyses
Preferred Qualifications
  • Midstream Oil & Gas experience
  • Construction industry experience
  • Manufacturing industry experience
  • Experience with Oracle Project Portfolio Management (PPM)
Nice-to-Have
  • MBA
  • Experience with Deltek (used for risk analysis)
    • Can be trained; not required
Candidate Profile

The hiring manager is seeking a senior-level scheduler who can "hit the ground running."

While Oil & Gas experience is preferred, strong candidates with solid P6 scheduling experience will still be considered. If a candidate has less industry experience but demonstrates exceptional P6 expertise, the hiring manager is open to reviewing their resume.

This is not a formal leadership position, but the individual may mentor or provide guidance to less experienced schedulers.

Project Portfolio
  • Manage approximately 15 active project schedules
  • Support projects across various phases and business units
  • Project values and complexity levels vary significantly
Scheduling Focus
  • Maintain and update project schedules
  • Identify and manage critical paths
  • Support milestone-driven schedules
  • Work across multiple projects simultaneously
Additional Notes
  • Most schedules are already established; this role is not typically building schedules entirely from scratch.
  • The team prioritizes work and helps balance workload across projects.
  • Cost-loaded scheduling is generally not required for these projects.
