Lab Technician
Role Overview

Under close supervision, this role involves performing routine chemical and physical analyses on a limited variety of materials. The position supports fluid analysis, research and development, and production activities within a laboratory and administrative office setting.

 

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory tests on process chemicals and fluids according to defined methods.
  • Adhere to the principles of the Quality System and all lab safety guidelines.
  • Record data in an accurate and concise manner, recognizing and reacting to out-of-spec data.
  • Report data to internal customers and provide analysis of non-routine samples.
  • Make laboratory preparations under close supervision.
  • Assist in keeping the laboratory clean and all equipment in good working order.
  • Complete assigned work in a timely fashion in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain a safety mindset throughout the designated area of responsibility.
Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry or other science related major.


Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and database software.
  • A good command of the English language (both verbal and written) is mandatory.
  • Effective communication and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work on different projects at the same time, follow instructions, and think analytically.
  • Must be a team player who is customer-oriented.
Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee may occasionally be exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 

Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to carefully and precisely manipulate samples, apparatus, and sensitive instruments. The employee is frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms and is occasionally required to walk, sit, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
