Senior Project Manager – Data & Analytics

Location: Birmingham, AL (Hybrid – 4 days onsite, 1 day remote)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a portfolio of strategic data, analytics, and technology initiatives. This role will be responsible for driving project execution from planning through delivery, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and aligned with business objectives.

The ideal candidate is a highly organized and proactive leader who excels at managing multiple concurrent projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, and communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. This individual will serve as a critical liaison between business partners, technical teams, leadership, and external vendors to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Project & Portfolio Management
  • Lead multiple complex projects simultaneously across data, analytics, and technology initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, deliverables, and roadmaps.
  • Monitor project performance related to scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
  • Identify project risks, dependencies, and resource constraints; develop mitigation strategies.
  • Drive project governance, reporting, and change management activities.
  • Support project prioritization and alignment with strategic business objectives.
Stakeholder Communication
  • Serve as the primary point of coordination between business stakeholders, technical teams, leadership, and external partners.
  • Facilitate project meetings, status reviews, planning sessions, and workshops.
  • Create and distribute meeting agendas, project updates, decision logs, and action items.
  • Provide executive-level reporting on project health, milestones, risks, and key decisions.
  • Build strong relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
Vendor & Partner Coordination
  • Coordinate activities with third-party vendors, consultants, and external partners.
  • Monitor deliverables, timelines, and contractual commitments.
  • Escalate issues and drive timely resolution when necessary.
  • Ensure external resources remain aligned with project goals and business priorities.
Budget & Resource Management
  • Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and expenditures.
  • Assist with resource planning and capacity management across multiple projects.
  • Identify staffing needs, resource gaps, and potential conflicts.
  • Support leadership with investment planning and project prioritization decisions.
Process Improvement
  • Promote project management best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain project templates, standards, and reporting frameworks.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project delivery, communication, and collaboration.
  • Support organizational adoption of new processes, technologies, and tools.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Project Management, Engineering, Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of project management experience leading technology, analytics, software development, or business transformation initiatives.
  • Proven experience managing multiple concurrent projects and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success delivering projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Strong planning, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Experience developing project roadmaps, schedules, executive presentations, and status reporting.
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience using project management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Monday.com, or similar platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or similar certification.
  • Experience supporting data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, data platform, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience managing external vendors and consulting partners.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
