Requirement: Candidates must reside in the greater Columbus, OH area and be available to work onsite as needed.
We are seeking an experienced Construction & Renovation (C&R) Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of construction, renovation, infrastructure, and facility improvement projects. This individual will oversee projects from initial concept through design, construction, occupancy, and project closeout while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable regulations.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing capital projects, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, and working with architects, engineers, contractors, and operational teams in complex environments.
- Lead construction and renovation projects from initiation through completion.
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, milestones, and resource requirements.
- Define project scope, deliverables, success criteria, and project objectives.
- Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project sponsors, business leaders, contractors, consultants, and vendors.
- Facilitate project meetings, design reviews, construction updates, and executive status reviews.
- Communicate project progress, risks, issues, and key decisions to stakeholders and leadership.
- Build strong relationships across operational and technical teams.
- Coordinate efforts between architects, engineers, contractors, construction managers, and external consultants.
- Review design documents, construction drawings, specifications, and project estimates.
- Support procurement activities including bid evaluations, contractor selection, and contract administration.
- Oversee construction activities, inspections, commissioning, and turnover processes.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost-tracking reports.
- Monitor expenditures and identify potential cost savings or budget risks.
- Manage change orders, contract modifications, and contingency planning.
- Provide financial reporting and project updates to leadership.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, ADA requirements, environmental regulations, and organizational policies.
- Conduct site inspections, quality reviews, and project audits.
- Escalate major risks, delays, and issues with recommended solutions.
- Coordinate project activities to minimize operational disruptions.
- Develop transition, activation, and occupancy plans for new or renovated spaces.
- Support move management, equipment installation, and facility turnover activities.
- Ensure operational teams are prepared for project completion and occupancy.
- Maintain project documentation including schedules, budgets, permits, contracts, meeting minutes, and status reports.
- Prepare executive-level presentations and project updates.
- Track project milestones, risks, issues, and action items.
- Support governance and portfolio reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience managing construction, renovation, infrastructure, or capital improvement projects.
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, vendors, and contractors.
- Strong understanding of construction project lifecycles and delivery methodologies.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification.
- Experience within healthcare, higher education, research, or large institutional environments.
- Knowledge of healthcare facility regulations, infection control requirements, and operational readiness planning.
- Experience supporting projects involving clinical spaces, laboratories, patient care environments, or large infrastructure upgrades.
