Job Description:
Location: Columbus, Ohio (On-site 4 days/week, remote 1)
We are seeking a Data Platform Engineer to help mature and evolve our platform and infrastructure to support current and future data initiatives. This role focuses on building out Terraform solutions and processes to enable digital architecture and infrastructure as a service. You will be responsible for maintaining, designing, and implementing infrastructure within our cloud environments, making a direct impact as we modernize our deployment, maintenance, and scaling processes.
- Design, deploy, and maintain infrastructure as code through Terraform, with a primary focus on the Azure Tenant Portal and Active Directory.
- Manage core infrastructure including Azure (Data Lake, Storage Accounts, Cloud Networking, Function Apps, App Registrations), Databricks, and Snowflake.
- Implement automated deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps to streamline infrastructure and code deployments for efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate with lead data engineers, data architects, and security teams to build a robust and secure data ecosystem.
- Troubleshoot and optimize cloud networking, storage, and performance issues using monitoring tools.
- Provide technical inputs and leadership to advance the organization's data management platforms.
Education: A B.A./B.S. or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: 3-5 years of relevant work experience. Must have recent hands-on experience and not be primarily in an architectural or consulting role. A background in an administrative or infrastructure-focused capacity is necessary.
Technical Skills:
- 2-3 years of experience with Terraform for managing Azure infrastructure, specifically with Azure Tenant Portal / Active Directory.
- 2-3 years of strong understanding of Azure services (Data Lake, Storage Accounts, Networking, Security).
- 2-3 years of experience with Azure DevOps for building CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments.
- High-level understanding of cloud networking and data security best practices.
- Experience with Terraform on Snowflake.
- A history of working within a data organization.
- Exposure to Snowflake from an administrative perspective.
- Terraform or Azure certifications.
- A robust DevOps background, particularly with Terraform.
- Exposure to GitHub.
- A contracting background, as it often provides broad exposure.
