Motion Designer

Hybrid - Redmond, WA (3 days onsite per week)

Pay: $37-$41


Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Motion Designer to create, edit, and polish high-quality video and motion assets for customer-facing, marketing, and social media experiences. This role requires a strong creative eye, advanced motion design expertise, and the ability to bring stories and product moments to life through compelling visual execution. The ideal candidate has 2-4 years of motion design experience and is highly proficient in Adobe After Effects and/or Premiere Pro, and other industry-standard design and video production tools. They should be comfortable working from original, raw files; developing motion concepts; editing video content; refining visual details; and, delivering polished assets that meet brand, quality, and platform requirements.

Success in this role also requires strong production discipline and excellent communication skills around timelines and deliverables across product, design, and other partners. This individual must be able to manage naming conventions, version tracking, file organization, production milestones, timelines, deliverables, and status reporting to ensure work is delivered accurately, efficiently, and on schedule, aligning to tight turnaround times and shifting priorities.


Key Responsibilities

Motion Design & Video Creation

• Create high-quality motion graphics, video edits, animations, and visual treatments for customer-facing, marketing, and social media use.

• Translate original files and product narratives into compelling video and motion design assets.

• Develop polished visual executions that support storytelling, product education, and customer engagement.

• Edit and refine video content to improve pacing, clarity, visual quality, and overall impact.


Video Editing & Post-Production

• Edit raw footage, screen captures, product demos, animations, and visual assets into cohesive finished videos.

• Apply transitions, typography, motion effects, sound sync, color adjustments, and visual polish, as needed, to meet quality standards.

• Prepare video outputs for multiple formats, channels, and aspect ratios, including customer presentations, marketing campaigns, and social platforms.

• Ensure final deliverables are accurate, brand-aligned, accessible, and ready for stakeholder review or publication.


Design Quality & Brand Execution

• Apply strong visual design judgment across composition, timing, typography, hierarchy, pacing, and storytelling.

• Maintain consistency with brand guidelines, design direction, and product experience standards.

• Identify opportunities to improve clarity, visual appeal, and customer relevance through motion and editing choices.

• Deliver work that balances creative excellence with practical production needs, business goals, and milestones/due dates.


Production Management & Workflow

• Manage production responsibilities including file naming conventions, asset organization, version control, and delivery tracking.

• Maintain clear production timelines, milestones, deliverable schedules, and status updates across assigned projects.

• Track feedback, revisions, approvals, and final outputs to ensure work remains accurate and organized.

• Proactively communicate risks, blockers, dependencies, and changes that may affect delivery quality or timing.


Collaboration & Stakeholder Support

• Partner with design, product, and business stakeholders to understand goals and translate feedback into effective creative execution.

• Drives proactive communication, ensuring clear insights into timelines, deliverables, and blockers.

• Support reviews by preparing clear design options, revised cuts, and final motion/video assets for stakeholder evaluation.

• Work collaboratively in fast-moving production environments with evolving priorities, tight timelines, and multiple concurrent deliverables.

• Contribute creative recommendations that improve storytelling, customer understanding, and asset performance.


Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a strong visual storyteller who can move seamlessly between creative concepting, hands-on production, and detailed execution. They understand how motion, pacing, sound, typography, and editing choices shape the customer experience and can use those skills to create videos that are clear, polished, and engaging.

They are highly organized, reliable, and comfortable managing the production details that keep creative work moving forward on time with quality. They bring both creative judgment and operational discipline, ensuring every asset is visually strong, properly tracked, accurately versioned, and delivered on time. They are collaborative, proactively communicative, responsive to feedback, and motivated by creating high-quality motion and video work that supports customer understanding, marketing impact, and business goals.


Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Motion Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Film/Video Production, Digital Media, Studio Art/Fine Art, or related field.

• 2-4 years of professional motion design, video editing, or digital production experience.

• Advanced proficiency in Adobe After Effects and/or Adobe Premiere Pro.

• Experience using additional creative tools such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

• Experience and background with Mircosoft 365 products, including Copilot, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

• Strong portfolio demonstrating motion graphics, video editing, visual storytelling, and polished production execution.

• Experience creating video and motion assets for marketing, customer-facing, social, digital, or product-related content.

• Strong understanding of motion principles, typography, pacing, composition, visual hierarchy, and brand consistency.

• Ability to manage file organization, naming conventions, version tracking, timelines, milestones, and production deliverables.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high quality and attention to detail.


Preferred Qualifications

• Experience creating motion or video content for technology, productivity, SaaS, or enterprise customer scenarios.

• Familiarity with accessibility considerations for video, including captions, readable text, contrast, and clear visual communication.

• Experience working in structured production environments with formal review cycles, stakeholder feedback, and delivery tracking.
