Job Description:

Full Stack Developer, Global Markets Technology Canada

As a Developer within the Global Markets Technology Canada team, you will work closely with Trading, Operations, Finance, and cross‑regional technology partners to deliver high‑quality solutions for Equity and Fixed Income businesses. You will contribute to feature development, platform enhancements, and system migrations while ensuring alignment with business objectives and technology standards.

We are looking for a dynamic, self‑motivated developer who is adaptable, resourceful, and able to learn new applications and technologies quickly with minimal guidance.

Duration: 12 months strong chance of extension

Location: Toronto – Hybrid 3 days a week

Client: Enterprise Banking

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with global technology teams to design, develop, and implement system features, enhancements, and migration activities.
• Deliver platform and engineering enablers that improve development efficiency and support market‑critical business outcomes.
• Partner with team leads, product managers, and cross‑region developers to ensure the successful delivery of scalable and resilient technology solutions.
• Troubleshoot issues, support production stability, and contribute to continuous improvement of systems and workflows.
• Demonstrate ownership, agility, and initiative in understanding new applications, tools, and business processes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in software development, ideally within financial services or global markets.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and React
• Experience in C#, Python, SQL, or System Integration.
• Solid understanding of Unix/Linux commands and scripting.
• Hands‑on experience with relational databases (Sybase, SQL Server).
• Familiarity with SDLC toolsets: Git, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Jira.
• Experience using modern IDEs such as IntelliJ, Eclipse, VS Code, or PyCharm.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills with strong communication and collaboration capabilities.
• Experience working in agile, multi‑team environments.
• Knowledge of Generative AI and machine learning frameworks, products, or tools for agentic or automation‑driven solutions is an asset.
• Ability to independently ramp up on new systems, platforms, and technologies with limited training
