SAS Developer (SSRS)
Overview:
Seeking a SAS Developer to build and support data transformation and reporting processes using SAS and SQL. This role is responsible for enhancing data processing, business logic application, reporting, and analytics capabilities across multiple teams. You will:
- Support ongoing data transformation and business logic processing initiatives.
- Focused on backend data development and transformation work.
- Supports ingestion and processing of transaction and portfolio data from source systems.
This is a 12 month cannot confirm any extension at this point, but candidates may apply to FTE roles at the bank or additional contracts as there is a lot of opportunity within the bank.
Both roles hybrid onsite 2-3 days/week (Thursday, every other Friday, third day flexible)
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain SAS programs and scripts.
- Create data transformation processes that apply business logic to source data.
- Extract, manipulate, and validate data from enterprise data sources.
- Build data processing workflows involving transaction, sales, and portfolio datasets.
- Write and maintain PROC SQL and SAS Data Step code.
- Support production data processes and scheduled jobs.
- Apply business rules and calculations to support tracking and performance metrics.
- Troubleshoot and maintain existing SAS programs and processes.
Required Skills (Must-Haves)
- 5+ years of hands-on SAS development experience
- SSRS reporting experience
- Strong understanding of:
- SAS Data Steps
- PROC SQL
- Core SAS programming techniques
- Conditional logic and data manipulation
- Ability to read, understand, troubleshoot, and modify existing SAS code.
- Experience performing data transformations and data integration work.
- Ability to apply business logic to raw source data.
- Experience working with production data environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to understand complex business rules.
- Practical approach to solving technical problems without overengineering solutions.
- Ability to quickly understand existing processes and code bases.
Nice-to-Haves:
- SAS Enterprise Guide experience (they are using Enterprise Guide, but open to candidates with other SAS applications)
- Experience with Netezza databases (primary data source)
- Experience supporting scheduled batch processes.
- Familiarity with cron job scheduling.
