Job Description:
Location: Maple Grove, Minnesota (Onsite)
We are seeking a Scientist I with a background in engineering or science and a foundational technical skill set. This role involves applying scientific principles to execute experiments and perform data analysis for various projects. The position is designed for an individual who is developing their knowledge of scientific concepts, business practices, and core business principles within a team-oriented environment.
- Remain knowledgeable of current technologies and relevant literature within the functional area.
- Support the testing of new technologies and research targets.
- Generate data to support posters, presentations, and internal documentation.
- Develop an understanding of experimental protocols, such as Design of Experiments (DOE), and execute them under direction.
- Apply basic data analysis techniques and develop an understanding of more complex methods.
- Summarize results, contribute to technical reports, and complete all experimental documentation.
- Develop methods and processes under the guidance of senior technical staff.
- Participate as an extended team member for experimental execution and perform routine experimental techniques.
- Adhere to all Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) procedures and general housekeeping standards.
- Comply with site and department-specific procedures for record keeping, log book use, materials receiving, and inventory control.
Education: A BA/BS degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related Engineering field is required. PhD candidates will not be considered for this role.
Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in the medical device industry is necessary. Candidates must have prior experience in test documentation through lab notebooks or reports.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat is required.
- Experience with test method development.
- Knowledge of Minitab or other statistical analysis software like Design-Expert.
- Competence in Design of Experiments (DOE) methodology.
- Demonstrated experience in analyzing and fulfilling documentation requirements.
- Experience testing medical devices.
