Due to the success of our teams, eight of 16 resources were hired full-time and remain with our client as leaders in the Cloud automation.

SITUATION

One of Apex’s long-standing clients is an emerging leader in the management consulting industry. This industry, like many others, recently saw a developing need in the cloud automation space due to increasing concerns over data hacks and privacy breaches. In order to protect the integrity of their proprietary and internal customer data, our client needed to build a Cloud Center of Excellence (CCOE) that could migrate their data to a private cloud. They needed Cloud architects with strong backgrounds in Microsoft Azure. After realizing that their internal HR teams could not effectively staff these roles, Apex was engaged to help. An initial challenge we faced was that each team operated differently in terms of how they automated data (i.e., using different tools, cloud work, team environment, etc.)

SOLUTION

Using the detailed job descriptions provided, we engaged our Cloud Practice Director to provide insight in finding high-level Cloud professionals. Over a series of internal meetings with the Apex recruiting teams, our Practice Director advised recruiters on what skillsets to look for and how to identify high-level candidates. The recruiting plan first aimed at architects that would be the foundation of the CCOE and then moved to engineers and hands-on technical resources that would build out the remainder of the team.

Our client expanded their background requirements to include AWS and OpenSource technologies to further diversify their cloud environment. As a result of the Practice Director’s guidance and open lines of communication with the hiring managers, we placed six resources that would become the foundation of their first CCOE. This success allowed Apex to place an additional ten resources with other Cloud teams throughout the company over the next 15 months.

Cloud automation enabled the client to better safeguard their customer’s data integrity.

RESULT

The CCOE team felt Apex was instrumental in setting the standard for Cloud automation processes that enabled the client to better safeguard their customer’s data integrity. Due to the success of these teams, eight of our 16 resources were hired full-time and remain with our client as leaders in the Cloud automation space. Today, security and privacy remain a top concern to our client as well as maintaining a leading position in the management consulting industry. As new Cloud infrastructure needs arise, our client is still actively engaging Apex to recruit DevOps resources to assist in ongoing migrations to further diversify their Cloud services (i.e., Google Cloud Platform).
