SITUATION
As Windows 10® approached the end of its support life cycle, our client faced the imperative task of transitioning to Windows 11® across its facilities. This migration was critical to mitigate risks such as security vulnerabilities, operational disruptions, compliance issues, and compatibility challenges with emergent software. Postponing beyond the support termination would incur elevated costs due to legacy system maintenance. This migration required significant effort to deploy, configure, and test computing devices compatible with Windows 11®. Acknowledging their need for augmented IT capability and specialization, and leveraging our proven track record, the client entrusted Everforth Apex with orchestrating a smooth and efficient migration operation.
On Track to Migrate 6,000 Devices to Windows 11®
Everforth Apex quickly scaled its team to include 24 specialized Windows 11® technicians ensuring a seamless transition. Our approach covered a comprehensive process of discovery and deployment. The discovery phase entailed pinpointing device locations and scheduling replacements within ServiceNow, marking them ready for imaging and deployment. Deployment included hardware installation, Windows 11® configuration, device replacement where necessary, and comprehensive troubleshooting. Following the migration, we provided training for employees to ensure an efficient integration of the new system. Our Engagement Manager maintained regular communication with the client, ensured risk mitigation and that the migration was completed at a rate to beat the end-of-life deadline.
RESULT
Currently in progress, this project is on course for Everforth Apex to successfully transition 6,000 devices by the Microsoft® end-of-life deadline. This successful migration is significantly enhancing the client's security, compliance, and operational efficiency. Beyond preventing potential downtime and alleviating the financial strain of supporting obsolete systems, this transition readies the client for future software innovations. Through this initiative, Everforth Apex has reinforced the client’s technological infrastructure, ensuring sustained success and adaptability in a dynamically changing digital landscape.
