Role Overview

A premier business and commercial real estate institution is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join its team and support continued growth. The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for overseeing all human resources functions for the organization and its related entity. This is a standalone HR role that requires a high level of discretion, organization, and ownership. The position may oversee payroll and perform related accounting or administrative support tasks as needed.

 
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all HR matters for both entities.
  • Administer employee lifecycle processes including hiring, onboarding, offboarding, and personnel records.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain and update employee handbook, policies, and procedures.
  • Advise management on complex employee relations matters including investigations, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on HR organizational risk and workforce issues.
  • Coordinate benefits administration including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits.
  • Manage leave administration (FMLA, CFRA, PTO, sick leave, etc.).
  • Support and administer performance management processes and coach managers on effective policy application.
  • Review payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and ensure compliance with wage and hour laws.
  • Review and maintain HR systems and employee data, including payroll, timekeeping, and personnel records.
  • Provide consistent HR support across the organization and its related entity.
Required Qualifications

Experience: A minimum of 7 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a regulated or professional environment. Experience managing payroll is required.

 

Technical Skills: A working knowledge of employment law and HR compliance requirements is necessary.

 
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Basic accounting or financial administrative experience is preferred.
