Overview

We are seeking an experienced Epic HIM Analyst for a short-term contract engagement (30–45 days) to support hospital coding and Health Information Management (HIM) operations. This role will focus on Epic Coding workflows, workqueue (WQ) optimization, and documentation review support, working closely with coding and CDI teams.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support and maintain Epic Coding workflows, including troubleshooting, optimization, and build enhancements
  • Configure and manage Epic Workqueues (WQs), including:
    • Account Activities
    • Rule logic and routing
    • Workqueue design and updates
  • Perform rule analysis and updates, ensuring coding accuracy, compliance, and efficiency
  • Assist with query workflows and processes between coding and CDI teams
  • Provide documentation review (Doc Review) support, including workflow validation and issue resolution
  • Collaborate with HIM, Coding, and CDI stakeholders to improve operational performance
  • Deliver general support for hospital coding operations, addressing system-related issues and enhancement requests
  • Assist with Epic security templates (as needed), including review and updates aligned to coding/HIM access requirements
  • Support system testing, issue resolution, and go-live stabilization efforts (if applicable)
Required Qualifications
  • Epic HIM Certification (required)
  • Proven experience supporting Epic HIM / Coding applications
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Epic Coding workflows and build
    • Workqueue (WQ) configuration and maintenance
    • Rule creation and updates
    • Query workflows/processes
  • Experience working with hospital coding teams and CDI specialists
  • Strong understanding of HIM operations and revenue cycle impact
  • Ability to quickly assess issues and provide solutions in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Solventum 360 Encompass platform (preferred but not required)
  • Exposure to Epic security templates and role-based access configuration
  • Prior experience in short-term optimization or stabilization engagements
