Product Manager, Merchandise Financial Planning

Location: Bellevue, Washington (Hybrid 3days onsite)

 

Role Overview

This role supports a leading accessories business by driving financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis across sales channels. The position is responsible for managing budgets, analyzing trends, and providing recommendations to optimize product assortment, inventory, and profitability. The ideal candidate will partner cross-functionally to drive strategic decision-making and improve overall financial performance across the merchandising portfolio.

 

Key Responsibilities
  • Own sales, margin, and inventory planning, including both top-down and bottom-up budgeting for accessory channels.
  • Lead forecasting and reforecasting processes, using historical data and trends to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Drive sales and operations planning (S&OP) processes, aligning forecasts with inventory, purchasing, and financial targets.
  • Analyze product assortment and portfolio performance, providing recommendations on distribution, purchasing strategy, and optimization.
  • Deliver financial reporting and insights to inform decision-making and improve profitability.
  • Partner cross-functionally with product, merchandising, procurement, replenishment, and forecasting teams to execute strategic initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in financial planning, supply chain, or category/merchandise management.
  • Strong experience with forecasting, financial modeling, and performance analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to build financial reports and models.
  • Ability to analyze trends, perform scenario analysis, and identify root causes using data.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and present recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in retail, merchandising, or buying.
  • Experience with SQL or data querying tools.
  • Experience working in supply chain or inventory planning environments.
