Location: Camarillo, California (Onsite)
Clearance: Secret Clearance
An opportunity is available for a Systems Engineer to support aerospace programs. In this position, the engineer will contribute to a software team focused on systems engineering for various program blocks. This role involves working onsite at a naval air warfare center and a corporate office in Camarillo, CA.
- Analyze and contribute to software system designs.
- Understand interfaces between multiple subsystems.
- Develop test procedures for requirements verification and validation.
- Perform validation activities such as module-level integration testing and regression testing.
- Analyze test results, log defects, and collaborate with developers for issue resolution.
- Work as part of an Agile team, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with customers, internal sites, and other technical disciplines.
- Participate and contribute to peer reviews, milestone reviews, and technical meetings.
Education: A Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 5 years of experience, or a Master of Science degree in a STEM field with 3 years of experience is required.
Experience: Must have experience conducting integration, functional, regression, and performance testing on embedded software systems. Familiarity with Agile sprint planning, test iteration cycles, and DevSecOps CI/CD pipeline activities is necessary.
Skills: Proficiency is required in writing clear functional and technical requirements, requirements-based testing, and validating traceability in IBM DOORS or an equivalent tool. Candidates must possess analytical skills for root-cause analysis and defect tracking, along with effective communication for cross-functional collaboration. The ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently is essential.
Additional Requirements: United States citizenship is required. Candidates with a DOD Secret clearance are highly preferred. This position requires the ability to work onsite full-time.
- Experience in designing and leading system-level integration, performance, and compliance test strategies.
- Ability to conduct validation activities, assess test metrics, and ensure verification results meet software requirements.
- Experience analyzing complex test data, leading root-cause investigations, and coordinating defect remediation.
