Email Developer

Client: Top 5 Bank

Duration: 12 month contract (high likelihood of extension/convert)

Work Location: Hybrid – 1x/week (Thursday) + every 4th Friday in-office, Downtown Toronto

Hours: 37.5 hr/week; Monday–Friday

What does the LOB do?:

  • Owns client-facing communications including promotional campaigns, service updates, and digital banking initiatives
  • Leverages customer data and marketing automation to deliver personalized communications across email and SMS channels
  • Focused on scalable, insight-driven digital engagement strategies
Summary:

Our client is looking for an Email Developer with hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) experience to support BAU campaign execution and marketing automation initiatives. This role will focus on building, deploying, and optimizing email communications, ensuring high-quality delivery across large-scale client campaigns.

Job Responsibilities:

• Build and deploy email campaigns using Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC)

• Develop responsive email templates using HTML/CSS and media queries

• Utilize AMPscript to enable dynamic and personalized content

• Create and manage CloudPages and support Mobile Studio initiatives

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to design and maintain reusable templates and modules

• Support marketing automation journeys across email, SMS, and digital channels

• Perform QA/testing using tools such as Litmus or Email on Acid

• Troubleshoot rendering issues across email clients and devices

• Optimize campaigns for deliverability, performance, and engagement

• Translate design assets (e.g., PDFs) into functional email builds

• Manage multiple campaigns concurrently in a fast-paced environment

Must Have Requirement:

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) email development

• Strong proficiency in AMPscript for dynamic content and personalization

• Experience building responsive emails using HTML/CSS

• Experience with Email Studio, CloudPages, and Mobile Studio

• Working knowledge of Data Extensions, Journey Builder, and Automation Studio

• QA/testing experience with tools such as Litmus or Email on Acid

• Ability to troubleshoot rendering issues across multiple devices and email clients

• Experience with segmentation and dynamic content strategies

• Experience with Workfront or similar tools (e.g., Jira)

Nice to Have:

• Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications (Email Specialist, Developer)

• Additional experience with Journey Builder and Automation Studio

• Strong attention to detail and adherence to brand guidelines

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across stakeholders

• Ability to prioritize and manage deadlines effectively

Compensation:

Apex pay scales are determined by role, experience, skill set, and location. For this new position, the estimated hourly range is provided below as a guideline; however, total compensation may vary based on individual circumstances.
