Control Systems Engineer

Location: Juno Beach, Florida (Partial Remote)

 
Role Overview

Our organization is seeking a Control Systems Engineer for utility-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) plants. The person in this role will develop requirement-related processes and create control systems requirements for these projects. This position involves developing controls logic, implementing programs, and creating protocols for site verification, testing, and troubleshooting to certify all control system project requirements are met.

 
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop processes for managing common and project-specific control system requirements across a large fleet of power plants.
  • Work with equipment suppliers to perform factory integration testing of new hardware designs to validate requirements.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of all control system project requirements.
  • Support the commissioning team during plant turnover.
  • Work with cross-functional teams and serve as the plant controls subject matter expert for both internal and external customers.
Required Qualifications

Education: An engineering degree or a technical degree in a related area is required.

 

Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of SCADA/Controls engineering experience is necessary.

 

Skills: This role requires the ability to travel domestically and internationally, estimated at less than 10%.

 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Possession of an Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • A Master’s Degree.
  • Multilingual capabilities, specifically in Spanish, Mandarin, or Korean.
  • Expertise in the Power Generation industry, with a background in power plant controls and renewable energy.
  • Experience managing deliverables from domestic and foreign suppliers.
  • Proven ability to develop and verify software requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Capacity to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines by setting priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
