Job Description:

Location: Seattle, Washington (Hybrid)

Duration: 9 months

Payrate: $65 - $67/hour

As a Security Engineer/Tester, you will perform authorized security testing on complex, large-scale, and critical applications. Working within the development team, you will proactively identify security vulnerabilities early in the development cycle. This role acts as a liaison between the information security team and development teams, helping to interpret and resolve security issues.

• Perform authorized security testing on complex and highly critical applications.
• Work as part of the development team to proactively identify security vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10, SANS Top 25, CWE).
• Serve as a liaison between the InfoSec team and development teams to facilitate understanding and remediation of security issues.
• Present findings to leadership and development teams to inform decisions on mitigations and controls.
• Maintain awareness of the changing threat landscape and new security vulnerabilities.
• Operate in a self-directed manner, both independently and within a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.

Experience: 3+ years of experience in software development or testing with large-scale enterprise applications.

Technical Skills:

• Experience with manual and automated software testing.
• Deep understanding of web application technologies, web protocols (HTTP, HTTPS), and browser technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of application security domains such as Identity and Access Management (IAM) and various authentication technologies (passwords, biometrics, OTP, digital certificates, PKI, FIDO U2F/Passkeys).
• Proven expertise with security testing tools, including proxy tools (e.g., Fiddler), black-box security testing tools (e.g., Burp), and static security code analysis tools.
• Deep understanding of application security vulnerabilities like OWASP Top 10, SANS Top 25, CWE, and attack patterns (CAPEC).

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

• Working experience with security technologies and standards such as Single Sign-On (SSO) using SAML/OpenID and OAuth protocols.
• Good understanding of cryptographic algorithms and standards (e.g., Symmetric/Asymmetric crypto, digital signatures, JWS/JWE tokens, HSMs).
• Understanding of security vulnerabilities related to cloud environments.
• Possession of well-known security certifications.
• Understanding of Threat Modeling concepts and Secure Development Life Cycle processes.
• Familiarity with Mobile Application Security.
