Location: Charlotte, NC / Chicago, IL / Kennesaw GA / Jacksonville FL
Duration: 10 months
Payrate: $70.00 - $73.68/hr

We are seeking a professional engineer with in-depth knowledge of carrier/transport and SIP access technologies. This position will support Architecture and Engineering functions for Collaboration and Productivity products and solutions. The role involves developing program schedules, creating communication materials for leadership, and producing engineering documentation for fast-moving programs.
- Provide program guidance and develop timelines from an engineering perspective.
- Develop ROM/SOW quotes for projects, including equipment and licensing.
- Assist in developing project documentation such as Bill of Materials (BOMs) and cost estimates.
- Directly support business-initiated projects and communicate status updates to leadership.
- Provide local software and hardware support for complex integrated configurations, including Session Border Controllers, Security Services, E911, and SIP Session Management.
- Integrate with products such as Avaya, Cisco, and Genesys.
- Complete SIT testing, document results, and develop scripts, MOPs, and low-level designs for implementation.
Education: A BA or BS in Telecommunications, Data Communications, or Computer Science is required.
Experience: A minimum of 10+ years of telecommunications experience is required, along with 3-5 years of experience in LAN/WAN networking. Experience in program communication, program management, and working in a complex multi-layered network environment is necessary.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of session border controllers (specifically Ribbon 7k) and SIP/TDM Trunking.
- Knowledge of SIP, RTP/RTCP, ISDN, H.323, H248, MGCP, and codecs.
- Experience with QoS configurations, jitter analysis, and bandwidth analysis.
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN communications, switches, and routers.
- Proficiency with PowerPoint and Visio for creating structured program updates.
- Extensive working knowledge of call flows, system architecture, and design principles.
- Excellent customer service skills, including reporting, organization, and task prioritization.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Must be highly motivated and a self-directed individual.
- Ability to participate in cross-functional teams and work effectively in a geographically dispersed team.
- Experience working under tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
