Product Designer

Client: Top 5 Bank

Duration: 6 month rolling contract

Work Location: Hybrid – 1 day/week (Wednesday) + every 3rd Friday, downtown Toronto as well as other days (on an ad hoc basis)

Hours: 37.5 hr/week; Monday–Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

What does the LOB do?
  • Servicing pillar supporting digital banking experiences
  • Focus on mobile app + online banking journeys (transactions, user interaction flows)
  • Delivery-focused team working in fast-paced, sprint-based design environment
Summary:

We are seeking a Product Designer to join a newly restructured design team within a leading financial institution. This role will be embedded within a cross-functional pod as the sole designer, responsible for contributing to end-to-end product design initiatives across digital banking experiences.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and collaborator who can actively participate in stakeholder discussions, contribute to design delivery, and grow into owning full design cycles.

Job Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product, engineering, and stakeholders to support end-to-end design delivery

• Participate in discovery, ideation, and design execution across digital banking products

• Create wireframes, prototypes, and design documentation using Figma

• Support design system adoption and contribute to ongoing improvements

• Work within 2-week sprint cycles to deliver components and features

• Participate in team feedback sessions, design critiques, and reviews

• Assist with presenting design work to stakeholders and internal teams

• Partner with developers and QA to ensure designs are delivered to spec

• Continuously iterate on designs based on feedback and user considerations

Must Have Requirements:

• 2–5+ years of product design / UX/UI experience

• Strong foundational skills in Figma

• Ability to contribute across both UX and UI design

• Good communication skills with the ability to articulate design decisions

• Experience contributing to end-to-end design lifecycle (discovery → delivery)

• Strong portfolio showcasing process and design thinking (not just final outputs)

Nice to Have:

• Exposure to AI tools or AI-assisted design workflows

• Experience working in agile / sprint-based environments

• Financial services or large enterprise experience

Compensation:

Apex pay scales are determined by role, experience, skill set, and location. For this new position, the estimated hourly range is provided below as a guideline; however, total compensation may vary based on individual circumstances.


Location: Ontario

Hourly Range: $30.00 – $35.00
