Client: Top 5 Bank
Duration: 6-month rolling contract
Work Location: Hybrid – 1 day/week (Wednesday) + every 3rd Friday, downtown Toronto as well as other days (on an ad hoc basis)
Hours: 37.5 hr/week; Monday–Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Servicing pillar supporting digital banking experiences
- Responsible for core user journeys within mobile app and online banking
- Transitioning to dedicated design pods, increasing ownership and accountability
We are seeking a Senior Product Designer to join a high-visibility design team undergoing a major transformation. This role will act as the sole designer within a pod, owning end-to-end design delivery and acting as a key advocate for design across stakeholders, including VP-level leadership.
This individual must be highly confident in presenting, defending design decisions, and driving outcomes, while operating in a fast-paced sprint delivery environment.
• Own end-to-end product design lifecycle (discovery, ideation, design, delivery, and validation)
• Lead stakeholder engagements, including presentations to senior leadership (VP level)
• Act as a design advocate, influencing decisions and effectively communicating rationale
• Drive design strategy within assigned pod and collaborate across cross-functional teams
• Produce high-quality deliverables including user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and documentation
• Operate within a 2-week sprint delivery model, balancing discovery and execution
• Partner closely with product managers, developers, and QA to ensure accurate implementation
• Facilitate or contribute to design workshops and stakeholder sessions (in-office when required)
• Contribute to team culture through feedback sessions, critiques, and collaboration
• 5–8+ years of product design / UX/UI experience
• Strong proficiency in Figma with ability to deliver high-quality outputs
• Proven experience leading end-to-end design initiatives independently
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills
• Ability to confidently defend design decisions with clear rationale
• Experience working directly with stakeholders and senior leadership
• Strong portfolio demonstrating:
- Full lifecycle case studies
- Clear problem-solving process
- Depth of thinking (“show the work,” not just final designs)
• Experience integrating or exploring AI in design workflows
• Experience in financial services or enterprise environments
• Background working in agile / sprint-based delivery models
Apex pay scales are determined by role, experience, skill set, and location. For this new position, the estimated hourly range is provided below as a guideline; however, total compensation may vary based on individual circumstances.
